a concept for the entrance areas of the second floor of the main building of the Mystetskyi ArsenaL (SBID STUDENT COMPETITION)

The design task of this project was to create a universal transformable exhibition space on the one hand and the easily accessible space for people with functional disabilities on the other. We solve a problem of transportation of people with disabilities by installing a folding inclined lift, which occupy a minimum of space on the stairs in the folded form.
The exposition space is organized by a system of rotating panels, that create a specific path of exhibition and facilitate the creation the routes of people. We decided to add a bridge between the exhibition zone and the bar area. This solution created a circulation of visitors and improved accessibility.
The furniture in the exposition area is modular and easy to remove. Lounge space can simply be transformed into a lecture hall, by removing the poufs into a wireframe cabinet and setting up the chairs with foldable design (When folded flat the volume of the chair is reduced with an unequalled 97%). In addition, there is mobile wall modules, which can be used for closing window openings in case of need.
As a result, this concept combines ideas of maximum functionality and flexibility of space with authenticity of the original appearance of the building.
